What small ritual grounds you in the morning — and why does it work for you?
For me it's the first cup of coffee — but only when I make it slowly. The moment I rush it, the whole morning feels off.
I write three sentences before I open my phone. Not journaling, just three sentences about what I notice right now.
I've tried so many systems. The only thing that stuck: a five-minute walk before anything else. No destination.
Light a candle, open a window. Two seconds. But it tells my body: this is your time now.
I think the trick is making the ritual protect you from optimization. Once it becomes a habit-tracking app it's lost something.
